Fell off the wagon again, getting back on starting today!

So it's been a rough month around here with everybody being sick and me being exhausted. I finally decided today that I have to start taking my health more seriously. I gained some, then lost some, then gained it back plus a few, then lost some of it again. This morning I was 247 lbs. My BMI places me in Obese Class II , so after reading again for the fiftieth time, how my weight and the BMI I'm at can harm me and even puts me at a huge risk of early death. Luckily I'm 32 still, so hopefully I can get a bunch of this off. My long term goal is to be "healthy" That means getting down to about 170 I think but I haven't gotten there yet. My short term goal is 17 lbs. to bring me down to 230 lbs. I will re-asses and do more once I reach that goal.

Today I did well. I had a bunch of running around to do, did some good back strengthening exercises before I got out of bed. For dinner, we went to Outback. Now I didn't cut out anything but the desert and the bread (which was sad but I did it lol). We ordered the lowest calorie appetizer, the shrimp on the barbie. I had two small shrimp, no sauce. For dinner I really wanted a Fillet with a big baked potato and a nice Caesar salad. Instead, I chose from the 500 calorie or less meals and got my 6 oz. Sirloin with no butter etc. as well as asparagus with no butter. A soup or salad came with so I got a Caesar salad with dressing on the side so I only used half of it. I ordered no foo foo drink or dessert like I would normally do.

I also got back on the Xbox Kinect and played some dance central. Whew, I am so not used to it anymore, I was huffing and puffing like an old lady lol. But I feel good, my muscles feel used but not sore.

Well, here's to starting again and getting back on that stupid wagon. I need to be healthier and be around longer for my family. Period. This is not an option anymore, it never should have been. I know it's going to continue to be a struggle, possibly my whole life. But I am willing to try and try and try some more until I get it.

Weigh ins and measurements.... woo hoo!

Today I woke up LATE because I didn't get to bed til almost dawn. I hate that. Insomnia is a realy b!tch. If you didn't already know, I hate it.

So that left a lot to get done. Got some laundry done, played around with the kiddos etc. Made lunch and all. Feel like crap still so I didn't do much movement wise.

I know this is STUPID and petty, but this is day 2 that I've exercised in a row. I know that only is 2 in a row and that is not very impressive, BUT- it's better than I've done in a while.

Yesterday I took about a mile walk.. hurt afterward, worked up a sweat, but I did it.

Today I took the kids to the park for an hour and ran around, played on the equipment with them and acted goofy. Worked up a sweat and my heartrate was soaring so that counts!

Other thing I've been able to do which may seem small to you but nice to me, I have had at least 8 cups of water every day since I started on the SparkPeople.com on 1/4. Also, I've added fresh fruits and veggies to my "snacks" so that's cool.

I miss Diet Coke. I never thought it was that addictive but good lord do I want a diet coke! BRB- water break lol

Tonight Eric said we should do "fend for yourself night" for dinner lol. So they had soups and I'm having... wait for it.... lol

A ham and turkey sandwhich with mustard , pickle spears, and a pear with a huge glass of water. All of this doesn't even meet my calorie requirements for dinner! That's cool though, I'll be full and will have had a somewhat "balanced"meal.

That's about it... the new health insurance is driving me bonkers.. short trip, I know!

I've been asked to update

Yesterday I was doing fine except I couldn't get much down in the morning, just felt blah. Early afternoon the stomach bug smacked me down. It's all I could do to just get the kids back from school and feed everybody. Today we are taking my nephew home to Spring Hill... so I'll be in the car for 8 hrs or so. Let's hope I do alright.
And as far as food... that's funny. I tried toast this morning. Not a good idea.

Honestly, I forgot how great I was doing last year!

So I haven't been on since Spring last year. I am so disappointed in the changes in me since then.

All I can say is I have goals. I need to work on them but here they are for now.


1. By 1/1/13 I would like to lose 70 pounds. I realize that 70 is high. I will be happy with removing the 50 lbs. I've gained since my last blog here. This obviously has sub-goals that I have to do to make this happen.
a) Eat better and feed the family better. More fruits, veggies, water and less junk.
b)More physical acctivity. Not just for me but all four of us.
c)Consistancy and a plan for all of this. Not just "try to do better"

2. Get more done, stop letting my back problems stop me.
3. Enjoy life more. Stop worrying about every little thing. It's pointless!



Ok so that's 3 things, the first being the hardest, the second will be tough but hopefully can be done, the third is a matter of looking at things differently than I currently do.

4/13/11 Wednesday... been slacking on the blog

So the last check in was on 3/20/2011 and I was 201 lbs. Today 4/13/11 I am 192 lbs. :D I am 9 pounds down in the past 24 days. Not too bad lol. Also my start weight was 311 lbs in May 2010, so that's 119 lbs in 11 months! Basically here's how life has been... Running to the beach a few times a week. Playing Kinect as much as the kids share lol Acting crazy, listening to music while doing laundry and stuff. Dancing with the kids etc. Trying to cut down my portions and not have stuff I shouldn't have.. except in moderation. Basically that's it. Holly you happy with my update?? love you punk!

Tuesday 3/23/2011 Morning Beach trip.. Shells.. laundry.. pedometer :) lol

So today is Tuesday and it's early afternoon. Kylie is lying down for her "nap" which she is refusing to actually take. Yay.
This morning Kylie and I went to the beach for a walk and some seashell searching. Kylie got splashed up to her waist.... *sigh* .. in a dress. She had a blast. I wore my new Pedometer and we went about 1/4 mile or so just wandering and playing with water and trying to keep Kylie from playing with the Jellyfish'... we saw about 8 of them and she kept getting so excited. We found a bunch of those angel shells (where they're still attached to the other shell. They're beautiful! We washed them all up when we got home and now they're drying out on the counter. We're filling up vases with shells and sharks teeth to go with the shark paintings my brother did for us that are hanging in the dining/living room. Figured the shells would be fun and match.. so hey why not?
Yesterday we got Josh some new running shoes after talking to his P.E. teacher at school about how to help him get faster and in better shape overall. So he's in a 7.5 mens now at 9 yrs old... yowzas. Got a Pedometer for him and I and we're going to have a contest ending on the last day of school. Whoever can clock the most on their pedometer by end of school wins their choice of a game or something like that (out of our pocket ofcourse but it's fun). Josh is excited to run, so we're going to the track after school to practice running. Any tips appreciated! I also need to get him riding his bike, but I'm having trouble helping him due to him being 4'10" and 104 lbs lol

I keep tasting sand! Off to get more water and do laundry :)

Monday 3/21/11 Kids, Beach, Walk... n stufff

Today was a MOSTLY relaxing day. Took the kiddos for Dunkin Donunts for breakfast as a treat. They loved it :) Dropped off Josh at school, headed home with Kylie for laundry and kinect sports, dancing etc. Picked up Josh from school and went to the beach with Josh and Kylie. This was our first swim in the Ocean this year :) The kids had a BLAST in the waves even though the water was too cold. The weather was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky. We got nice and sandy and then met Eric up at Joe's Crabshack on the beach and had some crabs etc. Nom nom nom! I almost want to apply for a job there as a waitress... looks very fun! They're always dancing and goofing around. Very laid back. Maybe this summer...? We'll see.
Stopped by Walgreens on the way home.... then went for a walk when I got home. I walked 1.4 miles mostly at a "brisk" pace with a few sets of 1 minute "jogs". My back is really not good enough to handle much running. I'm surprised I can do any at all. I also did my arm rotations, stretches and crunches.
This body better be tightening up fast! lol
Ofcourse the 2 blueberry caked donuts this morning probably didn't help that but I'm hoping all the exercising will continue to offset that lol. I used to be able to eat 4-5 of those suckers!
Well I'm off to do some more stuff... thanks for the encouragement from my friends and family. This getting in shape stuff is not easy for me!
